Summary
The GMDSS Restricted Operator's Certificate (ROC) training course ensures delegates are competent in the use of VHF radiotelephony procedures and equipment used commercially in the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
Objectives
Delegates completing a GMDSS Restricted Operator's Certificate (ROC) training course will be able to;
- Understand VHF radiotelephony procedures in the maritime mobile service
- Operate the equipment
- Understand operational procedures of the GDMSS
- Explain detailed practical operation of all sub-systems and equipment
Target Audience
Personnel operating on vessels and/or installations which are required to be fitted with GMDSS equipment.
Prerequisites
In order to complete a GMDSS Restricted Operator's Certificate (ROC) training course delegates must be at least 18 years of age. Course notes will be sent to delegates on application.
Award
An ROC license will be issued by AMERC on behalf of the MCA upon successful completion of a GMDSS Restricted Operator's Certificate (ROC) training course.
Revalidation
