Summary
An OPITO approved ERRV Crew Advanced Medical Aid training course meets the emergency response training and assessment requirements for the role of an advanced medical aider on an Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV).
Objectives
Delegates completing an OPITO approved ERRV Crew Advanced Medical Aid training course will be able to;
- Understand the role and function of the ERRV advanced medical aider
- Maintain a state of readiness
- Prepare to receive casualties
- Receive and treat casualties
Target Audience
Advanced medical aiders on ERRVs.
Prerequisites
In order to complete an OPITO approved ERRV Crew Advanced Medical Aid training course, delegates must hold a valid OPITO Initial Training For Shipboard Operations (ITSO) certificate or reassessment through the Ongoing Onboard Development and Training Programme (OODTP).
Award
An OPITO certificate will be issued upon successful completion of an OPITO approved ERRV Crew Advanced Medical Aid training course.
Revalidation
The certificate must be revalidated every 2 years.
