Summary
The course will train delegates in the manual handling operations regulations and in how to carry out manual handling assessments in the workplace. The course is a mix of theoretical and practical sessions, during which delegates will be required to demonstrate their level of knowledge and understanding of the training programme content.
Objectives
By the end of this training programme delegates will:
- Be aware of the manual handling regulations and other relevant regulations.
- Be familiar with the requirements of the regulations and how they affect them and their organisation.
- Be able to interpret information from the regulations.
- Be able to interpret information from a manual handling assessment.
- Be able to gain information to assist in preparation for the manual handling assessment.
- Be able to construct a suitable manual handling assessment on behalf of the employer and put controls in place to mitigate or eliminate risk from manual handling.
Target Audience
Personnel with the responsibility for carrying out manual handling assessments in their organisation
Prerequisites
This course involves some physical activities, therefore delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
Award
An in-house training provider certificate will be issued on successful completion of this course.
Revalidation
There is no revalidation period for this training programme but refresher training is recommended every 2 years.
