Summary
Catering medical examinations are a mandatory requirement for those who wish to work offshore within the catering discipline. The examination is completed by a registered Doctor and is designed to meet the minimum standard of fitness that is required to be reached by anyone working in the catering industry. The medical certificate is valid for 2 years and allows you to work in the UKCS and other areas of the North Sea.
Objectives
The medical examination will consist of the following:
- Patient questionnaire
- Urinalysis
- Calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI)
- Near distance and colour vision
- Pulse and blood pressure measurement
- Lung function test (peak flow)
- Audiogram (hearing test)
- Check up of skin, ears, eyes and throat
- Consultation with a physician

Award
A catering medical certificate will be issued on successful completion of the medical examination
Revalidation
Catering medical certificates are valid for 2 years and must be re validated prior to expiry
Delegates should bring
- Detail of any prescribed medications
- Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport
- Please attend your appointment at least 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled appointment time
